OUR STAFF
We employ 50 staff. We have support and administrative positions but the majority of our staff are qualified professionals trained in Early Childhood Education and are very involved in running of all programs and the Centre. Many of our staff have been at GPDC for over 20 years; this experience, involvement and dedication shows in the quality of care throughout our programs.
Our staff strive to provide experiences that invite children’s interests, stimulates their creativity and satisfies their desire to explore and discover. Educators work together to establish and maintain a supportive, loving and non-judgmental environment for all children.
Our day care’s policy is to strive to hire all program staff with an Early Childhood Education diploma or equivalent training, recognized by the Ontario Day Nurseries Act. All eligible staff are also members of the College of ECE’s.
Our staff are encouraged to keep up to date in the field by attending workshops, training, conferences and other professional development opportunities as well as in-house training.
GPDC is a teaching centre. We provide training to early childhood education students, and high school coop students doing placements at our centre. This supports the future educators in our sector, brings new thoughts and ideas into our programs, and provides increased support in the programs.
