We employ 40 staff, including a Director and a Cook who prepares two nutritional snacks and a well-balanced hot lunch at our Main Centre. Our staff are qualified professionals trained in Early Childhood Education and are very involved in running of all programs and the Centre. Many of our staff have been at GPDC for over 20 years; this experience, involvement and dedication shows in the quality of care throughout our programs.
Our staff strive to provide experiences that invite children’s interests, stimulates their creativity and satisfies their desire to explore and discover. Teachers work together to establish and maintain a supportive, loving and non-judgmental environment for all children.
Our day care’s policy to hire all program staff with an Early Childhood Education diploma or equivalent training, recognized by the Ontario Day Nurseries Act. All eligible staff are also members of the College of ECE’s.
Our staff are encouraged to keep up to date in the field by attend workshops, training, conferences and other professional development opportunities as well as in-house training.
GPDC is also a teaching centre, where we provide training to early childhood education students, nursing students and high school coop students.
