February was Wonderful Winter in the FullDay4s program. What a busy month! We went on 5 field trips. One day we had an afternoon snack of beavertails, bananas and hot cocoa on the canal. Another we walked to Lansdowne Park to see the snow sculptures being carved and went sliding on the big toboggan hill. We saw a play at the NAC Fourth Stage called “The Queen of Paradise’s Garden”, a traditional Newfoundland tale told by Andy Jones using props and puppets. Finally we went to see the Arctic exhibit at the Museum of Nature. And when it was too cold to go outside we had snowball fights in our large basement playroom. We learned a lot about the animals of the north and south poles and made crystal snowflakes grow one science day.
